Throw in identify while you're at it!

Warlocks really don't need anymore buffs even in the form of utility spells like identify.

...I've stayed away from the forums a bit, but honestly I've put a lot of hours into Meph. Yes I'm not good at PK, never have been, but has anyone noticed that, for the most part I play nearly the only active warlock on the mud?

How many vets do you see playing warlocks? For that matter, how many vets do you see being afraid of warlocks? A well enchanted suit and RE and you're entirely immune to a warlock. Throw in shield and that makes the powerful warlock spells laughable. Perfect example is Irition when I fought him in the arena the 2nd time. Now yes, I lost because I didn't have a storebought pet. But after Meph killed him in Ayamao he super enchanted for reflex. I think there were about 4-5 magmas that didn't cling, even after a shocking grasp was thrown in (which reduces reflex). It could be because Meph's build sucks and he has like only 1 art at the most I think, but still.

As for staying on this topic, warlocks don't need scrolls or scribe. If anything they do need identify because it absolutely sucks having to go to someone else to constantly identify for you when a caster class that should be able to do it themselves. If anything else, make their elementals unable to be dispelled so they actually have more than 3 rounds to cast spells.

I know I suck at PK, but I can't recall very many logs of a vet playing a warlock or someone stomping other vets in the PK field unless they're a druid, yet everyone seems to say their fine. Why is that and what am I doing wrong?

Just because there aren't logs of vets stomping other vets doesn't mean the class isn't powerful. If that were valid logic then pretty much every class would be underpowered.

Warlocks are one of the strongest classes in the game, IMHO. And RE is very hard to come by now, since it cannot be brewed anymore.

Not scribe, but scrolls for sure. And warlocks shouldn't necessaraly have identify.. not very elemental. But if you can do wands and staves, you should have scrolls.

Theres an extremely well respected vet that's probably in the top 3 PKers/most evasive people to play SK that is currently or was playing a warlock, and had that character for nearly a year. Granted he wasn't super active but thats more because of RL and time restraints than anything else.

There isn't as many RE items as you seem to think there are. It just so happens the people that you're going up against have some of the only ones available.

Irition didn't super enchant for reflex - I know, because I enchanted his kit for him. I'm not going to out him and what he did enchant for but it certainly wasn't reflex.

There's a lot of things that you should/could be doing differently on Mephistir but I am not going to go in to them with you here. If you really want advice you're welcome to add me on yahoo or PM me. Warlocks are seriously one of the easiest classes to PK with.

Look up Syn's warlock, Lelahiah, of them owning several people. That was -before- locks got buffed A LOT. In a vets hands it would be easy to roll the mud with a lock now, if you dont go into the fight just spamming magma and hoping you get a kill.
