Necromancer Veteran Level spell

Apparition form

Concentration - High

Apparition form allows the necromancer to enter partially into the spirit realm, much like ethereal form.

It has limitations in that when cast, the necromancer releases all other spells, and may not cast any other

spells while Apparition form is held. The necromancer may not interact with items, recall or quaff potions nor use magical instruments.

The spell is much like stoneskin in that it may only absorb a certain number of attacks and increases in effectiveness as one levels up.

The spell is also easily dispelled.

I have to ask ... why do necromancers need this?
They have invis to undead. Formation is a necromancers friend. Kind of seems like a weak version of ethereal form or stone skin which they also have access too. How does it match the necromancer play style. Id rather see an animate self ability, that raises their own corpse to fight on after death only cast able well dead. An ability to temp turn themselves into undead to gain healing from cause spells at the risk of being instant killed from BoG. Fake aura spell would be awesome for necromancers to have. If your having trouble leveling around veteran just level like a sorceror only with cause spells and undead rather than charms.

Just a simple underpowered defensive spell that can get you out of bad situations. And your right, you do have access to etherealform, but you must find specific items, or get a sorc to scribe it for you.

Just seems like lately, if one had to choose which class to play, it would be sorc>necro.
Sorcs ether, mirror, enchant, and have two I win spells. 3 if you count final strike.

It would be cool if necromancers had some kind of defensive ability imo.

The only thing necros could stand to get now is a skill that lets them order undead, or perhaps just animates, without order lag. Since animates are sucktastic now anyway they should get that bone thrown to them.

How about instead of taking pot shots at Edoras, who currently has experience playing a highly prolific PK necromancer, you roll one up and show us all how it's done if you're convinced that what Edoras has to say isn't accurate? For all the naysayers contending that Edoras is throwing a fit just because his characters class got nerfed I don't see anyone offering to step up to the plate to provide irrefutable evidence otherwise.

Desecrate Armor, Item, but not weapons.

Works similar to enchanting and consecrating, the only difference being that desecration causes items to be flagged as dark aura.

Jreid there are readily available etherealform wands for sale in Ch'zzrym that are no save, just an fyi. I like the suggestion but there's so many etherealform devices in game if you know where to look.

We all know that Edoras IS just throwing a fit and beating an entire stable of horses straight into the dirt, but I agree he is perfectly entitled to it until someone else rolls up a necro and proves him wrong. Seriously, you guys. We're waiting, Mitch.
