I was under the impression that you weren't able to get all from stunned victims. Maybe that's been changed. If so, I'm sure I'd rather have it work for each item taken as a stealing charge. I'm not sure I can say its intended to be that way or not. Dulrik would have that answer.

Only if there is a witness to report the crime, since a stunned / unconscious character really can't report a crime he technically didn't see.

I approve of "get all" as an option to use on stunned characters. You should be able to take things off of a stunned person as quickly as you can off of a corpse. I also like that stunning is viable when you want to loot someone. I'm glad lighties have this option. Also, it's already harder to stun someone than to kill them.

What I'm not fine with is the fact that with this, you can full-loot someone and never run the risk of banishment, even moreso if the person you are going against is a trib member.

Can Tribunal members not direct flags on individuals as they wish? I would have thought they had that power. If not all the members, certainly the leader.

That might be a better way to drive this discussion - if that's the root problem.

Frankly, I like that there is an option to loot all on stunned individuals as there is an option not to have to kill to mug someone (and the more player/RP driven options the better). At the same time, I'd like to think that the people "functionally" running a country have some authority with regards to the implementation of their own "justice".

Is the purpose of this request only to remove the "Get all" functionality on stunned victims for it's own sake? Or is the suggestion just a tangental quick-fix solution and/or symptom of something else?

(For example, not being able to effectively RP/adjust the punishment levels at a Tribunal level)

I think establishing the WHY of this suggestion might be more important than debating the pros and cons of the suggested solution.

Reason why they can't just ban whomever they wish is due to the fact that certain people in the past have abused the power and found it easier to just ban whomever pissed them off at the moment.

I'd like to bump this. Either get all from stunned victims needs to be removed, or assault and battery should be added to the "banishable crimes" list.

Third post of the thread, for posterity, and the reasons have already been discussed. It's a code change, so Dulrik would have to make it, and the discussion probably isn't going to go anywhere else better than it already has. I just think it's a negative impact on the game when the law code is easily circumvented.

Even just based off of titles, at times.

That feature will not be coming back, I wager.

You know, all things considered, even if someone was giving out unfair bannings then it's a chance to RP.

So in all truthfulness I'm ok with this. It creates an RP game dynamic. Now obviously if someone is consistently abusing their powers in a way unbefitting of the guard of that area, then the way to deal with it is to RP with the powers above them (send an email to the patron imm, or imm staff explaining things) and then "RP" with the actual authorities of a kingdom - The kings, queens, emperors, etc. who delegate power to their tribunal leaders (I'm sure an imm staff would be happy to step into the role of the real authority of a land, from time to time if the RP and circumstances befit it).

But there are other recourses too: Find sympathetic allies who will work to undo or punish those culpable, if it's Zhenshi that's unfairly banning, then go to their allies in Taslamar or Ayamao and complain of a lack of justice, have them put political pressure on the offending tribunal. Hire assassins, to satisfy your secretive vendetta, get that player banned in other kingdoms, start a personal war against the country in question.

A state of Banning should not be the end of the world, it should be - like everything that happens - potential for story and roleplay.

I would rather trust the playerbase to make appropriate decisions, and then if needs be have them pay/learn for their abuses (be that being kicked out of an organization, demoted, etc.) than have the ability to role play be diminished for fear of abuse.

Those are my thoughts at least.

Unless I'm completely mistaken, when random banishment was removed the entire code of banishment was different.

It used to be that when a guard NPC saw you in a kingdom in which you were banished, he would pick you up and just randomly drop you off somewhere else. That, coupled with a closed-minded leader who isn't willing to let you roleplay yourself into trouble in the first place, let alone out of it, made abusive banning pretty devastating.

I imagine it might be revisited now given the changes, but perhaps not.
