Could be far worse. I played a mud where the who list was listed by adjectives. If they telled to you, there was a voice adjective instead of their name, or physical adjective. You didn't get any information about them until you either assigned a name to them, then the adjectives would disappear. You didn't get their title until they greeted you formally. Did I say worse? I loved that system.

The idea of titles on SK is that they are meant to be rumors of your char meaning knowing name to title is different from knowing name to face. I would be interested in having tells not force name. Would make for some interesting interactions around resurrections and conflict RP via tells. It would be interesting to have names to titles and titles to adjectives as well. Once you greet someone it marries the two up. That way the rumors of a shady deep elf are he is a roguish killer. Where Drizart is known as a kindly deep elf. Until you greet Drizart you dont realize that he is a kindly roguish killer. However it does seem like a lot of effort to go to and how many people would actually maintain two titles when people struggle with one.
