Just in case anyone decided to try and argue anything about it. I wanted to put a stop to that petty [REDACTED] before it even began right now.

if I remember right, isn't there a speed penalty for using a reach weapon in a non-reach situation?

If so, were you testing the bill in a non-reach situation?

My understanding was that you get -1 attack if you are taking melee hits, regardless of whether not you are reaching for your target. The -1 attack comes from taking melee hits (in my understanding) not from the position of your enemy when striking him/her.

So would a dwarf merc being specced in battle axe give any benefit or just be redundant if using haste and speed enchants?

Dwarves are essentially spec'd in axes of all sub-types, as I understand it. They do get a speed boost when using axes, but I wouldn't call that boost redundant.

He's asking if it's redundant being that they get a natural speed boost to axes. If you put speed enchants on the axe, would they stack? If not, then it's redundant. If he gets hasted, would his natural speed increase stack with the magical speed increase? If not, it's redundant.

I see. I misunderstood the question. I don't think I have an answer for that one.

I've been wondering about something like that, too, though.
Would a Dwarf who specialized in say Great Axe have essentially wasted the specialization slot, or do they stack?

They certainly should stack, I always thought they did but I suppose I never thought to check.

You know, if they DON'T stack, I should roll a Dwarf/Barb to get a free specialize with a side of Counterstrike.
Dwarf Hellion? Free Specialize and Cleave?

The possibilities....
