@Rodwen, If you're interested, my take is "no" to your idea, too.

The leaving the room thing works both ways, and there are ways for spirits to "shrug off" the effects of seance.

This is a matter of player courtesy more than character courtesy. Those whose actions have prompted this post probably aren't sitting around scratching their heads about it.

Or, as you stated, you should remain in the room with the seanced being, so, upon room exit, release the seance. This way, if you want to keep someone seanced, you have to listen to their babble.

Actually, I've had a character of mine seanced for rp reasons, and the char who seanced them had to lead them somewhere. So this would be detrimental to potential rp situations, imo.

But yeah, that's turdtastic, seancing someone just so they can't get rezzed.

I am okay with you using seance to keep someone from being resurrected, but it's a one-for-one trade as far as I'm concerned. The shaman must be completely occupied with (high quality) RP with the spirit in question to justify keeping them out of the river.

So we are talking about making Seance's concentration super high?

Right now, there are no plans to alter the spell. Literally ALL that needs to happen is a little more application of the golden rule.
