If Finney refers to Lorzatu as his centaur warlock, then I have to say that the char was very successful in pvp and he certainly didn't kill only noobs. At least that's what I remember from those very, very old times as a bystander.

Patri, we've missed you!

First off, your warlock only killed noobs. You didn't actually fight anyone that has a bit of skill, so don't act like everything is hunky dory. Go play a warlock class and fight ardith or someone who can actually PK.

Secondly, I was 2nd rank. Due to the fact that everyone seems to take delight in killing my character without any reprieve it's a bit difficult to gather coin and or armor when you're constantly dying. Yes, that part IS whining. Whatever.

Thirdly, speed run > casting. You can't fade in and out because everyone but MR barbs has detect so casting invis won't grant you time to change locations. Again, speed run > casting.

I am not certain why you post on public forums, since you obviously want everyone to simply agree with your point-of-view - no matter how flawed or inaccurate. And for the record, I did kill Ardith's character at the time with my warlock. I also killed characters played by Jerin, Tragonis, Algon, Min, Peso, Mitch, Chemhound, Torryn666 (the guy with the log site, not Adroan), Thran, Nothing, and a long list of veteran players.

But they are all n00bs, right? It can't possibly be an L2P issue - warlocks must be broken!

You should be on speed run, too, and stacking commands. Cast fireball w @target;east. It can be done - I did it many times. The ironic part is that I killed the same player that killed your lock in that log snippet with my warlock - how is that for irony?

But I killed him, so he must be bad? Wait...he killed you, though....loltastic.

This is def an L2P issue not a class issue. Even pre-warlock buff, a lot of the same techniques were effective, and your reasons that they're not are not valid or accurate. Buffing and build will mitigate just about every kind of damage, not just spell damage. And you can't enchant against both melee and spell damage at the same time effectively anymore. So yeah, someone may specifically buff and enchant to not be bothered by your spell-casting character, but another character based on melee will then have more options for taking them down. Too bad, so sad.

The class is mechanically fine. You, as a player, are not mechanically skilled enough to exploit their strengths. Increasing those strengths to ridiculously unbalanced levels will not make you better at exploiting them; it will just make you even more frustrated when you lose consistently while using an imba class.

Maybe you just shouldn't play warlocks, anymore.

EDIT: In the 19484 thread, I found this quote: "Post your ideas here. This as I said will be the last warlock buff thread I make, promise. All my ideas will go here from now on so I don't clutter up the forums." - Kin

Liar liar pants on fire.

You guys are so fun to troll. It amuses me at how seriously you all take the game. Oh and for the record, buff warlocks plz. Magma needs to delete pfiles. That is all.

Not to egg Kin on even more but I have it on good information the giant in this log actually had zero buffs except for devotion. So, really, Kin's warlock was doing pathetic damage against an unbuffed giant with lightning bolt.

The warlock spellset is the best ranged spellset in the game, and excels against unbuffed or poorly enchanted opponents. Against opponents with strong enchantments and/or buffs, warlocks fall off, but that is true for every single caster in the game. Even then, warlocks still have access to the most powerful group healing spell in the game, very good defensive spells, and also have access to staves and wands for large-scale group PK.

Warlocks are not imbalanced, although they certainly aren't going to land kills 1v1 against prepared opponents: Just like no one should be able to kill a prepared warlock 1v1 either.

Fixed that for you.

Did you honestly expect to get any positive feedback here on the forums Kin?

I mean crap, Syn's elf guardian warlock was extremely dangerous, although to be fair that was more because he was an elf guardian than because he was a warlock. Lelahiah came before all the warlock buffs too.
