The steamrolling is mainly contributed to the proper preparation of a certain vet, for example collecting and properly consecrating diamond/adamantite massive weapons for his undead and equipping them with MR gear, and his enemies trying to melee those controls, but that is neither her nor there.

The nerf to animates and reduced control undead concentration pushed necromancers toward using controls, I get that. While I agree that the shadowy wights were powerful and needed a nerf, my main argument was that it was possibly hit too hard with the nerf bat. I don't mind using other controls, I just wish there were more barbarian controls available.

I usually roll around with two controls so I can still cast some of the light-medium concentration spells and therefore prefer a combination approach as opposed to the 3-4 control zerg rush.
Finger of death is not a bad option, but the reason you don't see it used very often is simply due to the long cast time. I certainly wouldn't mind using spells like FoD or maledictions like poison plague if they received more of a buff or had shorter cast times.

Given that you have one of the most damaging spells in the game, maledictions, fast travel abilities, one of the strongest defensive buffs, locate object, and the ability to control and equip multiple GM barb NPCs.

I don't see how debuffing one NPC is too much. Sorry you have to do something now.

Archaicsmurf is prone to making a lot of gameplay statements based on his emotions.

Necros are no longer a class to be feared in PvP any more than any other class. However, there's little problem in nerfing the shadowy wights as they were indeed the easiest to access control and also the most powerful. At the same time, it's worth pointing out that it's silly to complain that all necros do nowadays are use barbarian controls. Undead controls can't use anything that normally requires "intelligence" anyway, like cast anything but the most rudimentary spells (if that) or taunt, which means that the only controls that are worth anything are barbs anyway. Animates are also absolutely useless in PvP.

It's really bad reasoning to justify nerfing a class into the ground because you've had experiences where you decided to ignore good tactics and repeatedly die to that class.

lol I did get some vibes that he is a paladin sympathizer :) Alas, he is entitled to his own opinions and I certainly don't mind hearing everyone's input on this, be it good or bad.

Greatsword normally only gives 2 attacks even when neutral/aggressive. Decent haste will bring it to 3 attacks. Fury on top of that will get you 4 attacks. It will only be a consistent 4 attacks if the haste is strong though.

This nerf to the wights seems appropriate to me.

2 attacks constantly, or 1-2?

I am pretty sure it is 1-2 actually. Greatsword is pretty horrible without strong haste + fury or spec. It should be 2 most of the time though.

Is that a reference to me? Because that simply isn't true. I'm not emotionally invested in this discussion in the least. But I do read logs of one necro soloing outer guardians and other necros that boast of taking down entire parties of multiple PCs without doing more than "o all bash". There are tactics to taking down fully prepared necros, but there are far fewer logs of necros getting ganked than necros steamrolling folks.

The speed at which a necro can "prepare" to take down multiple GM heavy armor PCs and troll through cities without a care (maybe holding an ethereal wand if they're really worried) is absurd. Now you have to zap a haste wand. OH NOES, 8 seconds longer is going to break your OPd class.

Not to mention..
