Why don't griffons share the centaur bonus for kick, given that their kicks come with claws/talons?

Actually, they do. They are both considered quadrupeds.

Will griffons be receiving innate kick? The new helpfile for kick suggests they might, if they're considered quadrupeds.

Heck no! Griffons are OP as it is.

I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

Kip-up was a good change that will promote tactical play. Swashbucklers still suck, of course, especially in light of the enchant and tribunal changes, but this change will make them more playable.

I think the changes to ranged combat have good intentions but are pretty worthless. Even post enchant changes--which resulted in overall AC of head/chest being reduced and led to ranged combat doing more damage--sanctuary and protection are so easily obtained that competent necromancers and sorcerers have little to fear from ranged combat.

Swashbucklers still tank worse than mercs/barbs. They still have less utility than mercs/barbs. They still have less survivability than mercs/barbs. They still do less damage than mercs/barbs. The good thing about swashbucklers? You're more likely to gank an extremely good player with taunt--if that player does not have access to scrolls--if you are a swashbuckler than if you are a mercenary or barb.

Perhaps we should give rogues juggle too as they are the nimblest of the adventurers. That and they've always been able to juggle...

What's your justification for that statement? We've never had the skill until now, so no class has been able to juggle better than any other.

Just because both bards, scouts and rogues are all adventurers doesn't mean they should all get the same skills. The juggle skill was given to two classes and one of those is an adventurer while the other is a fighter. Why? Because the skill is relevant to professions that want to show off. That doesn't describe a scout and it certainly doesn't describe a rogue -- they want to stay unnoticed in the shadows.

Of course, you could make all kinds of counter-arguments, but it comes down to my philosophy of how the classes should work. Did I briefly consider that rogue should get it? Yes. And then I decided against it due to a combination of theme, balance and uniqueness.

Well said, Dulrik.

These changed are really nice. I like how the swashbuckler has been changed from it originally being a hella tank (as i remember it) to being mainly a pain in the [REDACTED] (tactical fighter). I can't wait to see the new skill, that is currently limited to npc's, gets implemented for pc's. It should add some very welcomed flavor to pk scenarios.

I believe rogues/assassins have always been portrayed as dancers/bards. I remember a rogue played as a bard who was Paragon at Novice or Initiate or some such. And this was before the bard class was even implemented. Also watch Ong Bak 2. Not only because it was shown greatly in the movie, but because it's totally awesome. If you do not agree then I surely would not give you grief for it. But rogues were debuffed by this because they were ALWAYS able to shoot a crossbow one handed while holding a dagger in the other... While I do not think rogues needed a buff at all I do not believe they needed a debuff either...

Sorry D. Let me retract all of that about RP. That's such a broad spectrum that even bringing it up takes away from the real reason I brought the subject up. Rogues have always been able to do what 'Juggle' has done for bards/swash. It's an excellent addition to both classes and I applaud you for implementing it and we all know swash needed some love. However, It has nerfed rogues because now that it's a skill the same exact ability has been taken away from the rogue (Who I believe could do the same thing WITHOUT the use of juggling because loading a hand crossbow with a dagger in your loading hand isn't even a stretch of the imagination or testament to ones ability...). It is simply my opinion that rogues did not need to be nerfed as there are already far too many ways to counter their abilities. If you do not agree I will give you no grief.
