Shattered Kingdoms

Yea, SK is definitely one of those dirty little secrets of mine. In fact the only time I ever tell a female about SK is generally when I am tryin to get rid of them and I have exhausted every other option.

I'll come clean. My better half and I had been following .hack and thought Mimika's storyline was the best thing ever.

So eventually we made a character in some random, obscure MUD she played once upon a time and used a screen session to replicate the concept.

A family that PK's together Slays together.

This was not one of them

Sometimes my wife tries to listen to me tell her something about SK. She gets annoying and then starts talking to me about her Animal Crossing village. Then I get annoyed and start thinking, "cast teleport .... cast teleport oh god it is not working FINAL STRIKE!"

Sounds like a fair tradeoff.

We did go our separate ways. She had a nagging benevolence that earned her the title of "Mominatrix" from me before we just stopped seeing one another altogether outside the game. But the SK experience was fun. I got to see a bunch of stuff I never would have noticed, and she enjoyed pointing out stuff like a NPC named after her and winking at me like it was the biggest secret in the universe, and such. Good and bad, but the good's worth that much and the fighting for all the same. Since she's no longer around, I've sort of slowly forgotten all the negative things and waxed more nostalgic.

Why the hell was I quoted?

Mine usually plays with me, and she's better at the game.
