Etherealform and dispel

Like we said, the only 'bug' might be the verbiage in etherealform and/or dispel. D wants it to work like this, so it isn't a bug. It is utter nonsense that it works this way... but we aren't D.

You may be better off making the same decision many others have: to enjoy another game.

Sticking to your guns on calling this a problem when D and his staff don't think it is will gain you outcast and blacklist status. You'll wind up ... like one of us. If I could go back to where you are now, I would not make that decision.

A little advice: it's best to just ignore the forums, and when people you don't like log in, to ignore the MUD, too.

grep that is down right horrible advice however....this won't get changed..because they want you to be able to dispel a mage in ethereal form the same mage that has enchanted his entire suit for MR so you can not dispel him.

There are numerous ways that the mage who is ethereal is vulnerable to death. You just aren't using them. That doesn't make the mage invincible, it makes you lacking in applied tactics.

There are plenty of ways for a mage in etherealform to die, and it's actually quite stupid to stay like that.

Without true seeing there's a 1/3 chance for a rogue to instagib an ethereal caster with mirror image. Those are actually outrageously good odds.

There are a couple other ways as well, but I'm not going to post them up here.

I wish people would quit whining about this guy and just accept that he's not a real tangible threat.

I'd rather like to see exorcism work on the ethereal. You are on the spirit plane, exorcism should send you to the River, or dispel it. I personally would like to see the living sent to the River and figure out how to get out.
