I just remembered why I never use this spell, it has a 2 round casting time, costs 6% of my mana and can infect me. It only hits for -3 dex with each stack, which is questionable since dex is probably the least important stat to maledict, and with the brutal cast time makes it difficult to use effectively.

Why so weak, plague?

Not sure. Tried putting it on a weapon?

Slow has roughly the same casting time, less mana cost, and a bigger dex hit that only takes one cast to land. No idea why anyone would want to use plague.

Because plague is not intended to be used mid combat. If it was, it would be slow. It's actually kind of disappointing that there has never been a griffon that got their pet plagued and went to go PK folks.

Something about griffons being inherently good makes using an inherently non-selective biological weapon of mass desctruction seem difficult to justify under alignment RP and today's ethical system.

That's why a certain island always perplexes me with its post-modern take on griffons.

Hellions get plague but not slow, right?

[FLAME REMOVED] The griffon isle is based entirely on the idea of griffons taking advantage of plague as a weapon against the threat of genocide and slavery.

I think you missed my point.

Think about it in terms of, I don't know, plague being chlorine gas and good characters being the people who decided to ratify the Geneva Protocol. I'm making reference to real-world morality, which I guess might be why you ask if I am dumb. Out in the real world of "good" people, indiscriminate weapons are generally regarded as more abhorrent than selective ones.

I suppose you could make the argument that the griffons are racist elitist and think plague is a selective weapon, but you could also [FLAME REMOVED].

Oh. I didn't realize we were comparing the ethical behavior of humans in RL to mythological creatures in a fantasy RPG. My bad bro. Yur rite.

I kind of made the point of specifying that in the first comment you replied to, but I guess you didn't see that. You're just being cheeky now, and I doubt you'll be reprimanded for it. I could talk about storytelling and narrative, but I could also just talk about the usefulness of pearls on a farm.

Great job on the derailing attempt, though.

Grep, in a world that says that supports that elves can, and do, commit genocide themselves, against their delf brethren. Not surprised that indiscriminate biological warfare is alright. The morals in SK are simple: You are light, then you must destroy everything that the darks have touched; You are dark, destroy everything.
