As for the weakness thing there is none. I will agree. They are pretty buff but the fact they have no rings (which are the most scripted items in the game). And they have 1 armor slot thats a belt for enchanting. That alone makes up for a lot. Being able to use any weapon or shield is really going to push them over the edge? REALLY? instead of that one cabal?

I am kinda amused that this thread is still going strong after a month of chasing your tail.

Maybe, maybe not.

I know you mean well, but apply that same argument to every other racial weakness.

Is losing iron vulnerability going to push deep-elves, elves and sprites over the edge?

Is losing fire, lightning and negative energy vulnerability going to push centaurs, giants and elves over the edge?

Is losing blunt damage vulnerability going to push halflings, gnomes or sprites over the edge?

The same argument you are making to get rid of griffon-grip weakness can be used for almost every other race except for humans. Please explain why griffon-grip should go away, but these other racial weaknesses should not.

I get what your saying Moldran, I can see how you would think its a buff but step back and think about it. If your weakness is iron what do you do? get one of the ironguard scripted items? Brew one? Now the weakness on elements, There are a couple i think 2 scripted items that give it. A bit harder but you can atleast find something to help.

In the game there are ways around the weakness, griffon grip has no way around it but cabal.

You need to re-read the thread. The staff has already stated quite clearly that there are griffon-grip weapons with mithril, adamantite and diamond material types earlier in the thread. So, there is a way "around" griffon-grip - it's called griffon-grip weapons.

Alshain wrote:
The comment that there is only one mithril/addy/diamond shield for griffons in the game is false. Things for griffons have been added, though not advertised. You have to get out and explore to find new things sometimes :)

Oh, and they are not always in places titled things like "Griffon Sanctum"

Enjoy.

Moldran did you actually read what Alshain said?

Highlighted the important part of the sentence. No one is saying there is an issue with shields. Weapons are the issue. Having the lack or armor slots btw, is more equivalent to iron weakness then having lack of available weapons. Not having access to weapons as a non-griffon race is equivalent to not having access to weapons is the equivalency you are seeking. afaik, every kingdom has dia/ada/mithril weapons available to non-griffons. Is anyone saying that griffons should have that ease of access? No. Just having the availability is more than sufficient.

Might want to take those blinders off and read the entire sentence. I found a griffon-grip adamantite weapon not long ago that I have never seen before, so there is likely more.

Yes, I read the entire quote. If you noticed, the tone of my convo went from "there are no weapons" to responding to the claim that lack of weapons is a 'feature'. Glad that they were added, if that is the case. Was uneasy with what Alshain said though, only because he started off talking about shields. Which wasn't the point of this thread.

I thought it was against the ToS to have more than one forum name. I guess I was wrong. Learn something new everyday!
