I've personally experienced Lydia, despite being heavily outlawed, waltzing through Exile to her hearts' content killing whoever she wants using the Harlequin skillset along with a beefed up tribunal guard, while not summoning any bounty NPCs or attracting the attention of city guards. I think you're severely misrepresenting the potential for a harlie trib member with gate access to use a swash/barb tribunal NPC to secure kills with an inordinately small amount of risk. Is it the absolute best option for every harlie that wants to PK to join a tribunal? No, but in many cases it provides a sustainable advantage that is substantially greater than any other cabal trib combination.

lulz

any harlequin can waltz through a city while outlawed - the difference is that lydia would have to deal with tribunal guards slowing her down and announcing her presence and location over tribunal chat. there is literally no advantage to being in a tribunal as a harlequin - ur argument is ridiculously flawed.

u will be way more lethal and dangerous w/o a tribunal than with one as a harlequin. i'm not misrepresenting anything - my harlequin characters killed so many people that it resulted in crazy conspiracy theories that the imms were cheating for me. i wouldn't have been able to score a good deal of those kills had i joined a tribunal.

Do you know that Lydia is a Black Hand member? She had free reign of the city, and being at war actually made her -more- scary because on top of all the normal Harlequin BS she was also able to bring one of their beefed up guards to assist her.

Here's the list of possibilities.

1) You can be a harlie in no tribunal. You'll never be able to bring a guard NPC to kill people in cities, but you'll also be totally law immune.
2) You can be a harlie in a tribunal. If so, there are two options.
2a)You could want to kill someone who is in a city that you aren't at war with: In this case there's absolutely no difference at all between not being in a tribunal.
2b)You could want to kill someone who is in a city that you are at war with. In this case, provided you can avoid the handful of types of NPCs that automatically attack warring trib members, you will be able to bring a guard NPC (including one that can taunt, which every trib now has) to their city while also being law immune.

Essentially, as long as you have access to gate you have the ability to bring law NPCs on the offensive, including taunting law NPCs or very strong tanking law NPCs, to get kills while still being totally law immune. I believe that is broken. You should not be able to bring law NPCs to enemy territory while also being totally law immune in their territory.

I'd prefer that you keep on topic, please. If you disagree that it's broken for a character to be able to bring law NPCs to enemy territory while also being totally law immune in that territory, I'd like to hear your reasoning as to why. All other tribunal members are guaranteed to become more and more outlawed the more that they fight in enemy territory except Harlequins. That's very overpowered given the huge difference that bounty NPCs make in tribunal warfare.

Fine, then I'll ask it again just to keep things clear.

every harlequin is law immune - not sure why u keep bringing that up as some sort of advantage that is unique to a harlequin that joins a tribunal. joining a tribunal as a harlequin gets u access to a tribunal guard, which u don't even need to score kills given ur skill set...but it comes with drawbacks. those drawbacks are significant - u get attacked by tribunal guards that give away ur presence and location over tribunal chat.

ur more deadly and potent w/o a tribunal than with one as a harlequin. u may feel differently, but u have already acknowledged that u haven't played a harlequin and u haven't tested any of ur theories. as someone that has played harlequin characters - if u join a tribunal, it should be for the infiltration or spy rp....cuz ur putting urself at a disadvantage by doing it.

Then you're approaching this from the wrong direction. You're arguing that as a Harlequin, it's not always the best choice to join a tribunal, because it has downsides. To a point, I agree: Although I'll definitely state that those downsides are only meaningful when you're a non-caster which won't have reliably access to gates. It's still a huge benefit for a caster Harlequin to join a tribunal in my opinion.

However, answer me this question: If you're in a tribunal, is joining the Harlequin going to provide an immense mechanical benefit over any other cabal? If you're engaged in tribunal warfare against a Harlequin tribunal member, are they at an overwhelming advantage on account of how the Harlequin skillset works with regard to the law code? My answer to that is a resounding yes, because a Harlequin who is in a tribunal war with someone can completely ignore the primary downside of city PvP: Becoming increasingly outlawed and summoning bounty NPCs. No other cabal provides that ability, and it isn't even the only ability that the Harlequin cabal provides which is immensely powerful in city-based PvP.
