Why are there still odd subtypes for religious weapons? They should technically all be some form of exotic subtype so they can be used by every class.

According to who? I've never heard that was the idea. And it's certainly never been that way in-game.

I think as long as they fit the religion and aren't a /useless/ subtype (of which there are many), it's fine.

Yed? Who joins Yed? Warlocks? The current weapon works there.

Sargas? The current weapon makes sense.

Etc.

The only problem is when you have something like old Yed's sacred weapon. Which was essentially useless to every class, and particularly useless for the thematic main members of that church.

I agree with TacoRobot. As long as a religious weapon is fitting for a common faith leaders to use, it's fine. Provided it isn't a craptastic subtype like cane and is thematically fitting, no reason to make it an exotic.

If the priest is intended to be the high follower, the priest should be able to use the weapon. The only argument for variance should be hellion/paladin religions.

Rapiers and pigstickers shouldn't be religious weapons.

Except priests shouldn't be using weapons, anyways. So...

Generally speaking, priests do not factor heavily into our weapon design choices for sacred weapons.

This.

Want to throw shade at the other members of your faith? Use the sacred weapon of your faith as a priest when you should be standing in the back row casting heal.
