Tried teaching a noob enhanced damage and bash. Why cant you teach innates? Little small implementations like this makes the learning curve of the game go up.

More detail and more realism doesn't make the game better. It just makes it harder for new players.

I can appreciate realism in the aspect of RPing to liven up the experience, but to implement realism in the aspect of game play to annoy new players is going a bit far. Definitely drops the adoption rate of the game.

Another one. Every time a player disconnects while on a mount, they dismount. Whats the point of that?

Well I think someone with innate knowledge would not know how to teach said skill or spell. If they were born with it they never had to practice it , it comes naturally. I don't see it making much sense that it would be teachable since they never trained in it.

Meh, teaching bash/kick/faerie fire/whatever is so inconsequential that it should just be implemented without consideration of the cognitive science of it.

Besides, language is an innate ability and you can teach it.

It's so easy to level up now you dont even understand, we should not destroy everything that causes a bit of challenge.

Not the skill itself, but having it taught by a mentor who knows them innately.

And I agree on the latter bit. Let's get rid of rez/retrieval tokens :D

I would be fine with getting rid of the latter but I think it might have been implemented when the Pbase was very low and there were probably not many ress capable PCs on.
Perhaps it should be easier to get a ress , although I am usually screwed if no one is around anyhow.

How does this enhance RP? Very little.

How does this affect gameplay? Makes it harder for noobs

Is it really that bad to give a mentor the ability to teach innates? Its not life changing, but it is life changing for noobs being able to get free lessons if they are poor or unable to find trainers. Maybe they can find another player that can teach it, maybe not depending on whether the stick around long enough.

Would this be abuseable? No

From a programming point of view, the usability sucks.

Right now, innate equates to unteachable. If you know something naturally, your still able to teach it. More or less effective depending on the person. A great teacher can teach something they know naturally because they are able to break it down step by step that is reproducible to another person. It might even give them better lessons because lessons are approached from a different innate perspective.

I don't know if it falls within this category or it is a bug but why are some roaming wilderness npcs not spawning anymore?

Just off the top of my head:
The slight female halfling ninjas of the Ayamaoan/zhensh fields? Some rather useful things on those. infravision rings, mithril kama and more.
The Pyran tracker? Nice mithril set and container and good weapons.
The makar near the Borderlands keep? Very much needed diamond griffon weapons and shields. Hmm, maybe I should make a separate thread on how limited decent griffon items are.
