Since we have a rule manager now to handle rules violations, which this feature was implimented to stop. Can we please remove this now? It hampers a mage's usefullness in many areas. It has been a hinderance for quite some time, can you just do away with it now, or at least mark it so only PC's react this way?

I don't understand why it was changed to protect PCs. If you get charmed, really bad things are going to happen to you, anyway.

Not so sure how easy or hard it is to enable or disable honestly, and where it makes sense I prefer to have automated systems handling as much as possible just because it's easier for AI to be impartial than it is for me, at least for now(damn Skynet).

Then again, this also seems like one I could possibly enforce pretty easily.

Could you please explain why killing someone over open air is considered a different than e.g. carving them into steaks and junking them?

o all rem all
o all drop all
ju all
eject ***
(Take them somewhere that does decent damage and force them to attack and they're dead)
You can 100% guarantee someones death while they're charmed, may take a few extra moments but it's not like it's that difficult.

Honestly, if it were up to me I'd make charm person only work on NPC's because the spell is just stupid and used to grief when used on PC's (Being on the giving and receiving side of the spell I know pretty well from experience). Removing access to flight zones doesn't make the griefing any less. Then buff it up a bit so that it's more useful in PvE again (remove some restrictions etc). Even doing this it would make it kind of useless still due to the fact that there are null magic areas or areas that charms cannot go in 80% of the end game areas.

Charm is long cast and doesn't impair (?) - It should probably be disabled from causing critical save failure.

If anything the -no fly zone- rule should only apply to PCs. As of now, it interferes with all manner of control spells, even control undead (it does not if the control/charm has natural flight)

You all make pretty solid points. If anything, it is the responsibility of the charmer not to grief, but in terms of PvP, your items are forfeit or that should at least be your expectation imo.
