Someone's voodoo spirits appear and cause you to contort in pain!
That really did HURT!
You feel unclean.
Pink flames surround you.
You drop a gigantic no-dachi.
You feel weaker.

You receive a vision of your tormentor...
It is pitch black ...

Why couldn't I see the attacker? I wasn't blind, and I was still wearing glowing items.

This is a complete guess, but if nobody in the room they were in had glowing items you still might not be able to see. Your glowing items might only light up the room you're in and not others (like the voodooer's).

If that is indeed true, that is REALLY lame and IMO should be fixed for game balance reasons (even though it makes sense).

Adder is right, you can't see or sense people in other dark rooms with your glowing items unless you have infravision. And if dark rooms work this way then I guess a certain cabal spell can keep the shaman's identity hidden too.

Very VERY lame.

The certain cabal spell does indeed keep a shaman's identity secret AND prevent him from being gated to, which I've yet to decide how i feel about having been hit by voodoos from such twice. It doesn't really happen enough or as effectively yet that i care, pretty much :D

But onto the first point... it should at LEAST let you know the voodooers adjective/race when the spirits hit you, if not the room. It's impractical IMO to expect half the races to keep infravision up 24/7 just in case they get voodooed.

QQ

That's the way things work. Don't blame the shaman for having something work in his favor or doing something halfway intelligent (god forbid it). Then we can all go back to a skill-less, tribunal gets NPCs to defend it numbers win all pk battles system that sk is now.

Tactic is just fine, imo. That's how the specific cabal spell works, and that is part of its use. Sorry, but learn to live with it.

All tactics are fine till someone starts abusing them.
Once someone starts spam-voodooing from dark rooms it will get wimped too, so no worries.

This really looks like someone just had a bright idea and isn't a bug of any kind.
