I just noticed that when you start a battle with trip against a NPC that it dosen't seem to act as if though it is in fact tripped. For example, you can start the battle with trip then instantly trip it again as if the first one never happened. There is no lag on the first trip. Im hearing the same goes for bash as well. If a NPC is bashed it can instantly be bashed again without it being lagged.

A bald male half-orc is momentarily stunned as he hits the ground hard.

You pierce at a bald male half-orc's forehead, causing a small gash.
You miss a bald male half-orc.
A bald male half-orc punches at your left toe, bruising it slightly.
Overall, a bald male half-orc has a few scratches.

I tested it several times and it wasn't during a tick.

That is the way both trip and bash are set up for beginning combat.

So you are saying that trip/bash were never ment to work for the first inital attack vs NPCs but they are however ment to work for beginning an attack against a PC. In that case, why is it allowed to open an attack when other attacks are not? It seems rather pointless. So in this case NPCs are immune to spell blocking attacks the first round while PC's are not, seems broken to me. Maybe you have an explination for your comment?

Trip/bash only lags the for ONE round if used as initial attack against NPC and PC alike.

Unless it has changed, two PCs with the ability to bash training together will quickly learn that an opening bash doesn't floor a NPC for any length of time, because the second PC can bash immediately after the first PC. It lags the first PC for one round, but does not seem to stop the NPC from casting until another bash has landed.

This has been the way bash and trip have reacted for quite some time now.

I think it's stupid but Dulrik isn't likely to agree.

The only real problem ive had with this is if you bash someone (an npc) it seams that you still suffer the full bash lag, while they are back on their feet casting spells or what have you the next round.

Not as big of an issue with trip since you dont suffer the same lag... kinda helps one improve at the trip skill alot faster.
