I think that the issue is the zakami sometimes flee which ends combat for no reason.

Secondly "mode bash" is not a mode. There is only mode stun and mode kill. If you are on mode stun and you stun the creature then attack it again you will kill it and your mode will change because you forced it to change. For example:
Quote:
[HP:100%] [ME:100%] [PE: 96%]
> You will fight to stun.
>k aco
You pierce at a robed male human's chest HARD, piercing his ribs!
A robed male human is stunned, but will probably recover.
>k aco
[HP:100%] [ME:100%] [PE:100%]
> You will fight to kill.
Some grey robes falls off from a robed male human.
You pierce at a robed male human's chest. A robed male human falls on his knees and collapses.
A robed male human is DEAD!!
You hear a robed male human's death cry.
You get a single gold coin from a corpse of a robed male human.
You get 9 silver coins from a corpse of a robed male human.
You get 7 copper coins from a corpse of a robed male human.
Just keep it all.

The corpse being left can be a result of a few things, 1. as was said you can not see the corpse due to dirt kicking or blindness spells, or 2. if you had a pet and your pet got the last attack in that killed the NPC it will not junk the corpse.

The identical NPCs happens in every land. You can look at the different ones however...

Example:
A ugly male human is here.
A ugly male human is here.
A hooknosed male half-elf is here.

You can look at the first ugly male human by typing look ugly, you can look at the second by typing look 2.ugly.

If you feel that I have not given a clear answer and you still feel theres an issue log the whole combat issue and post it on here. I highly doubt its a bug and I am sure it can be explained with a log.

I just found out today from another posting I did that any weapons can be purchased and used by any class as long as the sizing is right without having a penalty unlike with armour. Therefore, I was using only practice weapons with starting character stats, not very good.

That is a very good explanation for identical NPCs; I still find it disconcerting--kinda like running into identical twins on the street, not something you expect every day.

The ZAKAMI weren't fleeing the room. When it happens again, I'll report everything.

Do you have nospam on? Try typing "nospam" and seeing if any of the options are on, and type "nospam none" just to be sure. That might explain why you're in combat and fighting the zakami but you don't see any output on the screen.

I am getting output on the screen. I never said I wasn't. Just when I was in the game and this happened, I didn't know how to report it properly. I know now and will report when it happens to me again. OK EVERYONE.

Are you cutting both their arms off in battle? If both their arms are ripped off they will stop attacking you because they don't have arms to hit you with. Also if that is the case you stop getting experiance once both arms are gone. You can try changing your aim and see if that helps. You have three choices aim upper, aim mid, and aim lower.

Next time it happens copy and paste it on here.

Also as far as the identical NPCs go, I highly doubt you will see that changed, its just something you kinda need to over look. With our cities being so large they would have to make serveral different NPC venums to make different NPCs and I doubt they will use them for different adj's.
Are you using a weapon? What is your dex, and how trained is the skill that the weapon goes with? What it sounds like to me, is you are not hitting. You are still fighting, and the NPC must not be hitting you. I would suggest finding a way to use some more deadly weapons or getting a higher dex or skill level with the weapon you are using.
The whole problem disappeared once I was using a better weapon than the initial practice dagger. Also, the MODE command is working much more smoothly.

Thanks for everyone's input. You've given me lots of insight into problems I'll be running into in the future.

The only problem I see is that your typing a full command, and you are a slow typer. :-?

Don't be knocking my typing skills. Now that I know how to use the LOOK command a little better there isn't a room in Newbie Nerina I've found so far that doesn't have a least one or two typos that need correcting! :x

Maybe you guys need to improve your reading/editing (patience) skills.

We do our best to respond and fix typos that are logged via the 'typo' command in the room where the problem exists.
