 Post subject: Counterstrike and reach

I seem to remember that you couldn't counterstrike people you couldn't reach (for example when you are using fists and facing an opponent behind a horse)...

However,

A well-groomed male dwarf's counterstrike DISEMBOWELS you!

If this is a boost to people using fists, jolly good. If not, it seems a little weird.

He is turning around and punching you in the face.

You have to remember that with circle stab you actually put yourself behind your victim to stab him in the back before going behind the pet. The barbarian is just like yeah whatever and is punching you in the face.

Yes it was like that, but Dulrik changed it not too long ago. This is the way it's supposed to be.

The only thing bugged is that you can get a second backstab after the barbarians counters your first one.

That seems fine to me. I mean, you sneak up on him, with your dagger raised, start stabbing, he punches you in the face first, but your reflexes still let you get in a hit.

If I am not mistaken counterstrike was changed so that reach didnt make the skill useless. Anyone could just stand behind a pet and attack to get around counterstike making the skill useless unless every barb ran around with a reaching weapon.

Let me give you a scenario as an example for why this change is stupid and absolutely ruins rogues against many classes:

Code:
> gla ever
You are looking at a curvaceous female halfling.
A wraith is in front of her with a wraith in the rear.


Now, she is untouchable by a rogue. Before this change, I could eventually kill the wraith - but now it would most likely just rawkill me, over FOUR ROWS.
