Here is a scenario. Battle is going on. Characters not involved in it send tells to a targeted mage that is in battle in an attempt to overwhelm his/her concentration. Viable tactic or lame?
It only makes sense that melee characters with few commands to enter or characters anywhere else in the world could support such an effort.
Sending him maybe 1 tasteful tell would be ok. But to spam him with tells would be lame as hell.
As far as I can 'tell', the concentration required to recieve a tell is -very- minimal. (I've only seen dwarf priests have problems with it, and that's when they're casting resurrection.)
As such, and also considering that tells are a one-time thing, you'd have to have a LOT of tell-spamming to have even a slightly noticeable impact, which would definitely be on the border of OOC discourtesy. That said, quiet mode exists for a reason.
