Maybe thats why melee is too fast cause head shots when aiming upper are a pretty common thing. Or do most people aim mid?

Unless someone has a specific reason to aim mid/lower, it's not common. I've almost always seen people aiming upper, because where you hit when you aim upper is only critical areas, therefore you smoke your target a LOT faster. In five hits, for example.

That would be interesting--don't know how willing you'd be to test removing aim upper/mid/lower and just seeing exactly how much of a difference it made in terms of normal combat length when bodypart hit was more random, but logically should increase it a great deal.

Alright, Granted I had zero spell ups except perhaps fly and it is highly unlikley he had haste up he just straight out beat me. I don't even think it is melee damage that needs nerfing but the damage from HoL this guy was a MENTOR in this log.

I do not even see the reason to hit Grandmaster if you are just going to solo any darkie, and rip through their tanks.

Dulrik doesn't want people to think they have to GM to be playable/competitive so that argument isn't going to get you anywhere.

Simply put, looking at this snippet I'd say you completely failed. If it took him 4 rounds to rip through you, I'd guess it took at least that many rounds to rip through your tank.

So, that's a total of 8 rounds. Not knowing what class you are, there had to have been some things you could have done.

Attack with a weapon with reach if you're a fighter, attack with spells if you're a caster, something.

Having been able to see first hand the difference in damage between tiny and giant, it is a substantial difference. Also, another thing to keep in mind beyond the fact that HoL is meant to rape darkies, is that a simple cap on the amount of damage enchantments on a weapon would probably go a long way.

Previous to the weapon changes there were weapons out there in the game that literally could do 80-100 damage per attack+ without enchantments. +10 to damage on 100 damage is 10%, + 10 to damage on 30-50 damage is 20-30%. The difference is quite sizeable, then when you take the fairly large size modifiers into account and you get even worse.

As an aside, HoL can be enchanted beyond what it comes with. I know I once put another 5 enchants on one.

And, in actuality, that was four hits to the head total. Two in the first round, one in the second, none in the third, and one in the fourth. Technically speaking, it would have been fully possible for him to kill you in the first round if the RNG had gone in his favor. I've had NPCs nail four head/chest hits in a row and kill me in one round. I think you should just consider yourself lucky that didn't happen.

Atleast it is rather realistic. If you get hit by a war-type hammer in the head four times chances that you live aren't that big, even wearing a helmet.
If you are "allergic" to the weapon, chances get slimmer.

I will show the whole log if neccesary. If you read the entire thing from the linked posted it was 2 v 1. I killed the giant real quick and then the lithe one ripped through my tank and dominated me.

And you were flying during combat...why? That's a reason for you to lose right there.
