I think the big issue here is people want to play a ten-inch-tall bookworm human with wings. They don't want to play an excitable, distractable child-like race. Sorry, boys and girls, but a constantly sedate overbearingly cranial being is not a sprite. Could be almost any other race but can't be sprite. Actually that can't be a minotaur either.
I cannot see either minotaurs or sprites being principled given the RP parameters to play them. I can't see elves, griffons or deep-elves grey. I can't see elves or griffons evil. I can't see deep-elves good. I can't see necromancers being anything other than diabolic. I can't see rogues being principled, aberrant or dogmatic. I strongly question whether minotaurs can be dogmatic or aberrant. They fly off the handle too easily. The choices you make at creation need to fit certain parameters for certain classes and races. Accept that certain parameters are there before you make your choice. Quit trying to be the Drizzt of whatever race or class.
Wrong, like I said if you ask around I am pretty sure people can come up with a laundry list of sprites that is the counter example. There is even some sprite cultures that is in the sprite-culture helpfile that is most definitely not bubbly. The bloodwings is one of them. C'mon, this is just silly. Not even the NPCs are all bubbly.
