So basically I'm just talking out of my [REDACTED] when it comes to personal experience. But I have noticed that people say oh just get a ton of resists or oh just be ethereal, but that's all total BS to keep people from fixing BoG. I've never ever seen a necro raid anything and come out on the winning side. I'm not countin Algons necro because I never really saw him do anything besides break tribunal bank accounts. It's harder to fill a bank account then it is to get new eq so ofcourse being kind of mean and spiteful like he is he went that route, another story all together.

Search for Olian on [REDACTED], you'll see more logs than pve ones.

This warrants for its own reply...

I mean I personally killed one with a half dozen wraiths just using bs/dual bs. They are kinda garbage really.

DUUURHHHHHHH! And if the necro used a weak mirror image scroll, a stone skin potion, or just position a wraith (with counterstrike, I remind you) behind him? That you got one by using backstab, which rawkills every caster class isn't really a testament to the class' power. Especially if they do nothing to avoid it.

Pet, scout, paladin formation. There was no way they could kill the sanced pet before my bogs killed the necro.

Uh, so ... a necro couldn't kill a paladin and a scout together? Two of the most devastating classes against a necro? That's a .. uhm ... surprise? That you have to use examples of groups against a necro testifies to their power.

Quote:
Between holy word, bog, and bs/dual bs there is no possible way for a necromancer to fight any balanced group. You have a priest and a sanced merc you can beat a necro with holy words. You have a rogue with an ethereal scroll he can beat a necromancer. You have a paladin with a pet and or law NPC he can rape a necro. It's just so easy to foil the class. I'll take a non delf sorc and a charm over a necro any day.

A rogue, well, I've already answered that. A paladin with a pet is fodder for a necro who knows his stuff, a paladin with a pet and a lawmob is tricky business and will most likely be a 50/50 situation - their direct counter is a 50/50 only with a lawmob, yeah, necros suck. And even then, paladins have no way of landing the kill if the necro bothers to pick a single, unlimited, store-bought wand up - or failing that, have someone scribe etherealform!

In essence, necromancers are tremendously powerful, and if played right, practically every single player on the mud who went up against one alone would either be running for his life or die.

Roriand was a paladin. Paladins are meant to kick necro [REDACTED], so of course Roriand owned necro face. As a paladin, it's really just you're job. And as was said, a 2v1 with a scout isn't exactly a good example of wimpy necros. Try giving the necro a buddy in this fight and see how well he does. Or better yet, change the classes. Oops? What happened? You killed them 2v1 with almost no effort??

And yeah... rogues own any non-warrior in back row. Rogues can instakill hellions in back row. And priests who are holding sanc on the front. And shams doing the same. These being classes who don't run around with 10 NPCs and can't zap themselves ethereal, etc.

I can hold 11 animates, and cast Finger, but that's it. Seems like I have a huge mana drain too, I am not gaining mana back as fast it seems while I am stacked up on undead.

So, eleven high level barbs alongside an extensive spell repertoire - yeah, you got it tough there, champ.

I must be missing something because my undead suck.

That whole wraith thing is at 50 and you have to find the NPCs for it.

You may have to be a high level ( I haven't played a necro to know ) but I do know that you can get them from a certain easily accessible, frequently used, upper-level training area in the Empire.

It's really not that hard. And yes, they are good.

However powerful it is, there are ways around BoG.

Necros have, and always will be, a finesse class. One wrong move, just like any other caster classes, and its over.
