Here is another one, a bard's ability to affect people has a lvl variable. Unless something has changed, a Master bard will have an extremely hard time affecting a GM and/or will affect several less of them, compared to a GM bard.

Why do you feel the need to make GM unattainable?

I never actually said 'unattainable'. Any level that is allowed by the game is attainable. But I want the majority of characters to be willing and able to play the game by Mentor without feeling pressured to grind their way to GM first. Right now, we still have a lot of GMs in the game, maintaining the pressure for everyone else to want it. But if this is finally done right, Grandmaster will become as rare of a status as it sounds.

Yes, I will continue to watch to see how people power-grind. That doesn't mean I will necessarily "stop" that method. It depends upon whether it feels like a cheat or a loophole. In the meantime, it's too early for me to say how these changes have impacted the leveling equation.

I do agree that grandmaster should take a certain amount of time to obtain...

With that in mind, I put this out for suggestion... Why not make it so, just as in Real life (which is KIND OF what this game is going for, Role playing game after all), it takes a certain amount of years to get to Grandmaster, as in blacksmithing or electricians or any other kind of mentoring job. I mean, if you look at all of the titles of lvls, it seems as if that was your original intent. With this thought in mind, you could make it so you have to wait those certain amount of years in order to get any kind of decent XP from lvl grinding. It would prevent spam deleters, power levelers, people jumping to the "winning side" etc etc. Just an idea, take it how you want to.

If you want a little more depth to this idea, please contact me Dulrik. I have lots of notes should you wish them.

Yeah, I agree. Reaching GM should have either an hourly req or a rl req (the later based on race).

Thats just [REDACTED], some people like being able to GM, you should stop restricting them and learn to play the game.

Everyone would have the same path to GMing, Peso. It wouldn't give an advantage to the people who "can't play the game."

Since, it is coming from one of the 1 to 50 in under 50hrs players, it must be a good idea.

I doubt anyone would consider me even close to a power gamer, and in my few years here I've had 4 GMs, 1 or 2 champs..I tend to hit a dry spell at master, and if the character hasn't really grabbed me by that point, odds are I'm toying with another concept. I solo level as much as possible, or very small group level. I've only once done the quest-to-GM route and it felt ooc as ooc could be, personal problem perhaps.

GM -should- be an accomplishment, something to strive for, but not something to grind harder for. I recognize the delicacy of that balance and have no idea how to go about reaching it.

I wouldn't mind seeing time requirements to reach GM. Particularly if some passive exp system were implemented that would reward characters for just -being-...with a sharp eye to idlers and botters, of course. Interactions, travel, etc. could slowly build up exp over time, and maybe soothe the itch to advance as fast as possible.

My current project recently hit vet, so I'm not yet sure how rough it will be hitting the upcoming levels, but I'm trying to be more alert as to its difficulty.

Few more coppers for the pile.

I must say, it would make sense that you would say this, Bobby. Granted you do tend to keep your characters for AT LEAST a few months, you are one of the people that do delete once you get bored, that are one of the power levelers. While you do bring a great bit of RP to the game, you tend to only make your characters to pk. I know this because I used to role with you to do the same. I have sense moved on from that method and went for the RP side of the game. I know there are two parts to the game, RP and PK. The problem with that is simple, IT IS AN RP BASED GAME.

This is exactly how I feel. It is so boring and monotonous to level, that I can't imagine how much time someone like me is going to have to waste to just grind to try to get to GM.
