Oh, we were on the same wavelength. I was commenting on the absurd idea that people are going to go to shops more to buy the junk that others sell trying to earn a little coin in the new economy. It didn't happen in the old economy system, and it isn't going to happen in this one.

Also, this idea:

Quote:
The goal is that shops that sell potions and scrolls will also buy potions and scrolls.

is even more absurd. There is literally zero point in reselling brewed vials/scribed scrolls. And even if you're just buying from one store to sell back to another store unbrewed/scribed, you'll STILL never realize a profit, and therefore would just be throwing money away to no gain.

Quote:
The things they buy will be the things they sell - and nothing else.

In addition, this is the "heart of the argument" being made here, which you seem not to have gripped. The number of shops that sell things versus the number of shops that buy things is not equal. IE, there may be four weapon shops in Nerina, but only one or two will buy weapons. Personally, I don't take issue with that, but evidently Redman does.

Quote:
I think you just argue because you enjoy disagreeing with me.

Truth be told, I despise disagreeing with you, because most often it feels like trying to explain (what should be) the obvious to my daughter when she was two. However, you continue to provide me with reasons to disagree with you, and I'm not the sort to let something ill-considered/poorly designed slide without making a case against it.

So here's the deal I offer: Stop doing things that give me cause to disagree, and I'll stop arguing. Seems pretty fair to me.

It really isn't going to matter much in a couple days, soon as I can play WOW.

There is just an accumulation of small changes that is making this game a chore rather than fun. The gap between the newbs and elite is even further, and this happens with EVERY change to make the gap smaller, you just make it wider, you really need to reconsider how to make people level, if there is a free system to earn EXP that is not limited by time then you will never stop the elite from GMing, you just prevent the nonelite from doing it.

I am irritated by the shop change because I can't make enough money, can't find the one shop in the area that buys the particular good I am trying to sell, and that is just irritating, if the damn guy is selling armor why won't he buy my junk?

The whole economy system seems broke in my eyes and makes the game more of a chore.

This game doesn't start till GM, whatever you say about master, you Dulrik are wrong, the game starts at GM, listen to the elite.

Okay Dulrik,

If you are going to make the weapon shops buy weapons that is great. But now you need to revamp every shop because I cant sell anything to those shows. Just the pawn shops.

We understand the issue. I went ahead and started changing shops before Dulrik finished adding tweaks needed to make shops work better. I've been waiting about two weeks past the time I was told that change would happen now. I understand its frustrating. I wouldn't have started this project if I'd thought it was going to take more than a week. I'm not going to undo the changes I've done. They'll already be done when Dulrik finishes with the next code update.

I'm sorry I caused you all so much pain by being too gung ho. I am sorry I worked ahead of Dulrik because I was excited about the eventual outcome of the way shops should work. This mistake is my fault and I'm sorry. If you feel I should give you something in the mean time, I'm open to suggestions.

Oh so there is work in progress to fix the shops? That is the first that I have heard of that. If you are aware of the problem then why can't you just come out and say "Hey we know there is an issues and it will be fixed in the next code update." I truly don't understand why everything is shrouded in secrecy

Plausible deniability.

I think I said the plan was started in early January. Its kind of unfinished. I'm not able to fix what needs fixed. There's been no intention to shroud anything in secrecy. I just don't feel the need to tell people behind the scenes details. I don't know the ETA of the code update which is needed to make the rest of these things work properly. I consider it an urgent issue. I am less than amused with the way its taking so long. I don't really have any idea how long these kinds of changes take to solve. Please be patient. I am trying to be patient. Eventually it will work better. I understand the perception is this change overall is bad. I wouldn't have supported the change if I thought it would work the way it has since the update. I will work as hard and as fast as possible to bring you the things you need to enjoy the game properly. If I can get my Zmud to work properly...

In fact, I did. I've said several times, including on this very thread, that there are bugs to be fixed that will change how things work.

As for an ETA, it's true that I gave Achernar certain dates that I haven't been able to meet. There have been some issues in my personal life to deal with that have taken up a lot more time than I originally envisioned.
