Yeah. Keep in mind that all the information on the who list is considered in character information. So those titles after people's names are things you know about that character (think of it as rumors, or hearing them referred that way through the grapevine). So whatever your concept may be, look for someone with a title that you think would help you and feel free to contact them. Heck, there's no harm in contacting ANYONE on the who list for help. Eventually, you'll find someone to help you. A good list of words to look for in titles though are "mentor, teacher, tutor, instructor, ect" these are people who WANT people to contact them for help.
The more people you meet, the easier it will be for you to find places to train, equipment to wear, and get back to life (priests are your friend!) Who knows, you might even find a buddy to explore with.
And don't feel bad about asking for help. This was the first MUD I ever played and it took me a really long time to get the hang of it. I don't think I ever would have if my husband and his friends and other people in the game hadn't been so helpful.
