That was really excellent! Thank you. It was inspiring so see that someone loves this game so much that they would write that for the benefit of someone so new.
I believe I'll roll up a character when I get home from work this evening. 2 easy questions this time.

1) Am I excepted to roleplay my class type? Are barbarians uncouth and uncivilized, or could they be an urban dwarf with a nasty temper, F.E.?

2) I have read the kingdoms sticky, but could someone recommend a well populated lighty city? I figure my character would maybe know that even if I personally don't.

1) I recomend you play your stats more than your class. In SK, class is just sort of like your "job." In some characters' cases, it helps determine their personality, but largely that role should fall more to what stats you have (I would say base stats, but I know some people have gone so far as to change their style as they magically modify stats like intelligence or charisma). Thus, a barbarian with a moderate to high charisma, and a moderate to high intelligence might actually be rather likeable, civilized, and interesting to speak to.

2) Taslamar would be an ideal starting nation if you're going to be playing lightie. It is, essentially, *the* lightie nation. Exile is the starting city in Taslamar. The low-level gear and newb area is also really good for a completely new player, as it's easy to navigate and there are a lot of little pointers here and there to aim you in the right direction to get started.

1) Your class type often will come into your characters RP. Although I've always tried to steer away from that fact that it dominates the characters RP. A bard is normally charismatic and outgoing, while a barbarian might be gruff and to the point. Same goes for race, though there are a few racial traits most players seem to play in characters such as the gruff and grunty dwarfish demeanor, or an extremely thick headed giant.

Always remember that although your character may not seem it, or may not RP in a certain way. It does not mean they can't have underlying goals or plans. Hell, I've managed to have a completely happy go-lucky sprite having to balance his time between running a faith, running a kingdom and chasing butterflies :P

2) OA is pretty much right here. For a lighty city, Exile in Taslamar is by far the most newbie friendly to start yourself in.

Started tonight! Two folks named Caesarea (sp) and Amschel were kind enough to show me the ropes and get me started killing pushovers in the arena. Thanks for all the help, guys. If any of you see Maril, feel free to chat him up.

Sorry that Caeserea wasn't much help to you. She's a ghost character and can't really come to help you much. You can always feel free to send me a tell though :) If I can't help, I will find someone that can!!!
