Okay, I understand the desire for innovation but this is getting rediculous. The new pets that went in recently such as the watery thing and the Grunthar are completely overboard. One can do everything up to and including cast sleep and acid blast and the other is a mentor level barbarian. What the hell is the point of even having friendly sorcs anymore? Why play a scout if a merc can get just as good a pet and have access to retreat?

Store bought [REDACTED] should not be above jman/vet level at the highest. Adding questable higher-level things is fine...but store boughts on par with like the trino, really now?

Wow, I saw the grunthars and thought there was a bug or something. Those WERE decent tames for like mentor/master scouts last time I was a scout.

I agree. It's not really reasonable.
But please, don't remove them entirely. Just tweak.

I wish having a pet wasn't mandatory for everyone in the game.

I'm pretty sure that a watery thing my character bought wasn't there after logging off then back on. This leads me to think that maybe one can only get a pet of their rank or lower? If that's incorrect, then maybe that would be an appropriate change?

And Salandarin, not everyone has a pet, my characters very rarely do... though I suppose, that may be part of my newbieness... :(

It is. In SK, it is advisable to have a pet in front of you at all times, no matter what class you are.

I have found this out the hard way on many characters. ALWAYS have a pet in front and if you can and your class allows it have more than one pet, bcause you dont know who is out there waiting to PK you. Some people like to sit in INNs and kill you when you pray in by summoning NPCs. With those pets you have plenty of time to get away, or enough time to react and kill the one attacking you.
