I was thinking about something like Liri's idea last night, but it involved age ticking, which I didn't like because it's different for each race. I like Liri's idea much better. :P It wouldn't stop someone from doing an FS before deleting their character, but it might deter some of the more throwaway characters from doing it.

That being said, I'm still not opposed to removing it from the game.

On a serious note, I believe every sorceror upon deletion should final strike in a room with many PC's.

Whats the point of having the spell if it never gets used? Ok since FS is so bad lets get rid of it, but while were at it lets get rid of harm bacuase that will kill ya, hey how about we get rid of every damaging spell in the game while were at it and take away all weapons too.

Attitudes like this is the exact reason I've turned more towards completely removing final strike from the game. The intention of this spell is completely lost on a good majority of the playerbase:

A final strike is the very last and most desperate defense for a sorceror who knows that she is sure to be defeated by her enemies.

Most final strikes do not fit this criteria. They are usually plots of revenge against a single player or a flippant effort to grief as many players as possible before deleting and thus avoiding any consequences.

It is the ultimate spell but it has an equally ultimate drawback.

This spell is defined by its consequences. Using it as a "fun" goodbye present for the playerbase upon a sorcerers deletion goes against the entire spirit of the spell. Sorcerers are only allowed to have it because of the severe consequences that they must roleplay through to use it. Without consequences, the spell shouldn't exist.

If the spell for some reason must remain in the game, perhaps it should only be able to be learned by a sorcerer from an immortal. The character must meet certain criteria, such as hours, age and sound RP record as well as intent to play the character for a certain amount of time.

Not surprisingly, I agree with Aneira 100%.

Well said.

Learn it from an immortal? Sure, then the pbase can have more "imm favortism" to cry about.

SK Character: I wish :(
Why would anyone want to take away the funnest spell in the game?? Syn got what she derserved she pked a Mage of Chaos, why because she thinks she is the Bomb diggy Bomb, and she got Nuked. How many of the Cruciable cryed when they got the FS bomb dropped on them?

Regardless, I think this spell should remain in the game. It should really be used for RP reasons yes, but will it be abused, just like alot of other things in this game. There is no stopping it, players will Abuse anything they can, thats just the player base of SK.

EXCEPT PESO. of course.

Rather than hard code, why not have specific rules issued on the matter of the Final Strike, with site bans as a possible punishment. After Imburr lost three levels from dropping someone over a city, that came to a screeching halt, such might work the same in this situation.

Suppose, but if your just going to delete after your FS, how can they possibly punish you? Your next char? :/ that'd stop players from playing even more.
