The torn-out heart of a human is lying here.
A pair of black, gold-buckled boots lies here.
A white-leather sash lies here.
A pair of black, baggy, leather pants lies here.
Lyness (a subdued female half-elf) is here.

A midnight guard exclaims 'Halt, lawbreaker!'
A midnight guard says 'I will now carry out your sentence.'
A midnight guard says 'For the murder of Flavian: a levy from the bank and major confiscation of personal property and death.'
A midnight guard frowns.
A midnight guard confiscates a blackened mithril sickle set with a flame.
A midnight guard confiscates a burning spear.
A midnight guard confiscates an elegant gold ring set with a peridot.
A midnight guard says 'For the theft from Flavian: amputation of a limb and a monetary fine.'
A midnight guard raises his weapon and then severs your arm!
Your left arm has been severed!
A thick bronze bangle engraved with musical neumes falls off from you.
A midnight guard confiscates some of your money.
A midnight guard says 'You're too poor to pay full restitution, so you'll get some extra cell time.'
A midnight guard says 'Your prison sentence is 1 day and 13 hours.'
A midnight guard says 'Execution will follow once you've done your time.'
A midnight guard escorts you off to your new prison cell.

Having combat code check during a fight for changes in a surrender toggle is a bit much; changing your mind when everything goes pear-shaped is a bit late, really. Suggest you RP it ICly with the tribunal - parole, maybe?

You waltz into a room and five guards scream at the top of their lungs and lunge at you. You realize you are going to be captured and drop to your knees and yell that you surrender. I cannot see why it's a bit much that they just haul you to jail instead of roughing you up first, zealously bashing you so you cannot remove your weapons and hoping with all their heart that you'll kill one of them so they can confiscate more and let you rot a day more in jail...

Checking for auto toggles during fighting might not be conceivable code-wise, hence why a command was suggested.

And logs of incidents with buggy auto toggles are extremely hard to come by, personally I've tried it once I remember distinctly - Rashua, I hadn't touched any auto setting in one and a half year when I was suddenly arrested in Nerina just after having walked through Menegroth fighting guards at every turn. Logs are practically impossible to provide for cases like that.

The only thing I would ask for then is a way to view your crimes if you are already outlawed. As it is you have to have someone go into an (often) enemy city and look to see if your crimes have been reported.

Really, just check config or auto when you enter the realms. It will show your status and if it happens, you'll have proof. If it really is a bug it will eventually be caught by a player.

I never gave any evidence but I have caught the bug before it actually screwed me over. But why should I give any evidence, it's amusing.
