SK Character: RAWR!
They should get penalties for every type of restoration, for having stupid RP.

What I have proposed in the past is that Barbs/Shaman loose XP when they get resurrected but don't lose the XP if they are raised.

No and no.

There are simply not enough shamans around to do this, as is there are sometimes hardly enough priests around. Bad idea IMO.

I'm in favor of any idea that makes gaining life easier and less painful.

OK. It's obvious you haven't a clue. There are a CRAPTON of shamans ATM. . . . besides . . . . making playing the class more appealing with this option would ensure that there would be MORE shamans about as a general rule.

Uh, spirits are less powerful than gods in SK. This shouldn't be a shocker. Intentionally blind shamans and barbarians are free to reincarnate.

I think that tactically, it would be fun to reward a healer for recovering the body. I'm all for resurrection costing extra spirit disorientation if there's no body.

But shamans do not need to be more priest-like, even leaving aside the question of shaman power.

Two things:

1. Asking a healer to risk their own life to grant you one will increase the likelihood the healer will decline the offer.
2. If your character died then either (a) a particularly nasty monster is waiting for a rescue party or (b) a player has killed you. In the latter situation, the odds are frighteningly high that the PC corpse is gone.

Want to give shamans an awesome boost?

Give them the a spell to replicate Call Armor in a self-casted, but brewable, form.

Uh, what? You've obviously been dealing with the wrong priests, miss. Or rather, playing the wrong kind of priest =P
