I can see a few reasons for this. My character actually does use the birthday for certain RP events. One main reason I would like to see something like this personally is for those of us that play a character to age death and would like to plan ahead for some type of RP around the death. To simply guess could have the character keel over during the middle of the RP, to give a rough estimate (maybe simply the month) would enable those that want to use the information the chance to plan accordingly.
Considering that your death is not going to happen on your "birthday," or on any precisely calculable moment, that's a pretty MORONIC reason to request a birthday.
It may not happen exactly on the birthday, but it is usually close from my experience.

[sarcasm] But evidently Evena speaks for everyone and can guarantees that no one else cares, even those who would like to see a feature like this (like Rodwen, Deathadder, myself and perhaps others not wanting to speak up), so do not put it in. [/sarcasm]
Please, Evena, if you speak your opinion, do not include everyone in it. Not all of us agree with you or anyone else here, we are individuals capable of thinking for ourselves and deciding things we want and do not want.
How about you toggle some common sense and just PICK A DAMN DAY if you want one?
Speak up if you want to, but I'm still pretty sure nobody is going to give a flying umm... about your character's birthday, except YOU. PLENTY of other worthwhile things to worry about implementing without pandering to a couple of whiny [REMOVED] incapable of formulating a birthday.
That is your opinion, Evena. Yours alone, not everyone else's opinion. Sure some may share it, some may share mine. But please stop stating that I am the only one that cares, because as this thread shows, there is more than one person that cares about knowing the information. If you feel the need to keep slamming other people's opinions, it will just keep cementing my opinion of you in my mind. This is Gameplay, the discussions should be about what people think would make the game more enjoyable for them as players, and not using filtered words to belittle the opinions of others when they do not agree with you, keep that to General Discussion where it belongs.

This forum is for questions and discussion about existing gameplay features including skills, spells, tactics, politics, and economics. Ideas for new features are also welcome.
But I guess you will keep using such words to drag down the opinions of others (which in my opinion shows little maturity) rather than have a rational discussion, so I am just giving myself carpal tunnel trying to get you to understand that somethings that are important to others are not important to the rest. Kind of like one's man's trash is another one's treasure.
EDITED to fix a grammatical error pointed out by Evena.
