Oh yes, I definitely understand that Antiira was way heavy on the offensive side in his early years. I did chill out in my later years, though. Besides, the only people I made a lot of fun of for avoiding Antiira (to my knowledge, at least) was Ardith and that was because he not only avoided me, but purposefully logged off and stayed off when enough people were online to kill him, yet still acted like he was awesome OOCly.

I continue to be impressed by people insisting that actions no longer have consequences just because it inconveniences them.

I continue to be impressed that you can type and slam your head against a cement wall at the same time.

This is a common example of the two circles of the venn diagram that is the SK population (PK, RP) not intersecting. My preferred method for solving this is to develop lots of ways for people to PK each other outside of the cities, and let the cities be where people who aren't so excited about PK can hang out in relative safety.

Ummm, no. Because then hoarders will get a bunch of [REDACTED] and sit there all day.

Non-PK zones with this in mind! Items of high value, god-like and superior condition, or whatever, will be stripped of you as you were caught off-guard relaxing in said zones for more than 25% of your online time. Blame it on the thieves!

Example. Character is online for 40 hours in a week. If the character spent 11 hours in Non-PK zones, they would lose the god-like and superior items.

What do ya say?

Still no, non-pk zones would be very dumb.

If you don't want to pk or get pk'd, don't involve yourself in pk or conflict rp. I've successfully played a few characters that didn't pk or get pk'd, by doing just that: Avoiding things that will get me pk'd.

Maybe a KoL-inspired approach might work. You could toggle your anti-pk flag on or off. When your flag is toggled on, you can't be in a cabal or a tribunal (or religion), and you couldn't keep gear higher than level 20 - but you also can't be pked. When your flag is toggled off, you can be in a cabal, tribunal or religion, engage in pk (and be pked, keep gear over level 20 - and if you pk someone, you can't toggle your anti-pk flag on again for three rl weeks.

If you aren't in a cabal, tribunal or religion, don't have any items over level 20 and haven't PKed anyone in three weeks then no one is going to bother killing you anyway.

And if they do, it doesn't matter, because you didn't lose anything worth being sad over.
