I would say that then you would need to find a different way of attacking groups that contain 2nd row griffarbs. There are spells that ignore MR so therefore, those classes should always nuke griffarbs at their first chance.

Casting a flat-damage spell at the class with the highest HP in the game isn't a really good game plan.

As things currently stand, having a griffbarb in the second rank spamming AoN on PCs is one of the best formations in PvP.

AoN can't be spammed "on" anyone directly. You have to be in melee with the target for AoN to trigger. If the barb is in the second row, he needs a reach weapon in order to affect any opponent with his AoN.

How is this any different than any other barbarian? The class has always been better at dishing out damage than taking it, so it's probably correct to put ANY barbarian in the second rank if you have someone better at tanking in your group.

You insist on making a distinction between MR barbs and regular barbs, therefore it's incorrect to not do the same here. MR barbs are NOT going to have the highest HP in the game, because they spent 10 trains on MR instead.

AoN should have the side affect of hitting ones own group especially if second rank.

Griffon barbs can max both.

Because the best buffed up barb in the game won't be able to cancel buffs from the enemy: If I was looking to do damage to someone and I was able to choose between having giant strength and haste myself versus being able to strip away sanc, armor, shield, giant strength, haste and SA/Protection from my target, I would gladly choose the latter. I would -much- rather have an MR barb putting AoN up on my target with auto assist than a normal barb who pumped out a little more damage.

When vets come and QQ about a new ability that perhaps threatens their perceived ability to always win, you know you're doing something right.

This whole reduction to griffarb really tells a lot about the strength of the arguments the opposition has, which is to say, none at all.

Crap, I actually agree with Ardith... *looks around to see if the world is blowing up*

The only argument I can say about mr barbs that have reach weapons is this, maybe AoN for melee attacks only work on the attack if they are in the front row. If they are in the second row, it is required for the other side to attack with a melee. *If* there was going to be any balancing done.

I have nothing against the ability, just its effectiveness. 100% magical resistance is too much and the saving throw for AoN is almost none existence.

Ardith also likes to make arguments when the outcome favors him.
