I am relatively sure anyone with a lick of common sense understands that "melee range" means, "in the same room, and not shooting at you from a mile away".

Pretty sure the current interpretation of melee range just means, "standing in the same room", and does not take formation into account.

Edoras probably has the best example of how it *should* work, but it doesn't work that way. Alas!

The trouble with intimidate vs. sanctuary is that you can't keep trying against intimidate. Which makes the fact that one character is protecting multiple other teammates even though they're in melee combat all the worse. I wonder if Edoras' solution will be too much trouble for Dulrik to implement, though.

I wouldn't think so. There's already code which prevents intimidate from having any effect if the hellion is resting, sleeping or fighting, so I would presume that in that section of the code you could also check to see what position the hellion is in and whether or not he's wielding a reaching weapon.

I may be oversimplifying things, I get spoiled by using easy to work with programming languages.

I want to ask this though I just read the help file and I don't mean to be a D-bag or anything but at the end of the help file it says "Hellions can only intimidate opponents that are within melee range."

Now then, if the hellion is second row, and the mage is second how....how is the mage in melee range of the hellion?

Edit: ok ok, it also counts for the hellions friends, so front row max reach is second row......what if the caster is third row does it still affect them?
p.s. And I also read edoras thing after I posted this because I was lazy and didn't want to read all six pages, I'm jumping on the bandwagon late.

I read this and thought Dulrik-bag, because of the capital D. The word your d is referring to should not be capitalized, as it is not a proper noun, and in the context of SK, puts that word on the same level with the almighty creator. This is bad, and you should feel bad.

Obviously I am engaged with the group and I can try and cast the spell with no argument and I cannot attack the group because of intimidate.

This seems like a bug.

Yet it is nothing new than what's already been discussed in this thread.
