You should be able to trip and switch stances while prone. You should not be able to bash while prone.

Swashies should also be able to throw items even while duel wielding.

They should also get inherent bonuses to disarm, and e-parry should trigger far more often against unarmed / natural attacks.

Active Skill: Turn Blade
syntax: turn <victim>
Using this skill, a swashbuckler receives an attack of opportunity on his victim based on the victim's current weapon damage, by effectively sneaking in close and parrying the victim's blade with such force that it actually redirects the weapon back at its owner.

Implementation Suggestion:
1 round lag, cannot be used while prone, can cross ranks to hit someone attacking the swashbuckler, causes a single strike against his opponent proportional to weapon damage (similar to blitzkrieg for mercenaries, but based off of the victim's weapon damage).

Swashies don't bash, so this point is moot unless you're arguing that all characters should be able to trip and switch stances while prone, which I would argue against.

Having the option todo a few more things while prone could be really interesting. I like it!

Too bad, jhlorleb, because priests shouldn't be able to heal or recall while prone.

And yes, that's what I'm arguing for. This gives a bit of a buff to adventuring classes as well and it helps knock the barbarian back down a huge notch (preventing spam bash against other melee)... and I don't see why characters shouldn't be able to switch stances while prone anyway.

I don't think anyone was suggesting that priests be able to heal or recall while prone. All that was said is that there should be *certain* skills or actions that can be done while prone.

For example:

Roll > You start to roll in order to evade attacks while prone, lowers weapon speed on your part but provides a buff to dodge.

You might get a skill called entanglement, which based on dexterity or strength (whichever is higher) helps to draw the offender down into prone state too

Or for the dirty fighters, throw dirt: rogue has a more accurate chance to throw dirt into the offender's face (since they're on the ground)

You might introduce a few new skills / spells:

Perhaps a casting class might get a spell called : Rebound > If cast while prone has a CHANCE of knocking the offender prone (or maybe lessens the down time, helps them back to their feet - and gives them a short period of time where they are immune to bashes - enough for spell casting)

Once or If you start considering weapon specializatiosn you could add things that have better chances of doing damage to prone characters, like a mace/hammer specialization : pound > could do more damage to prone characters.

How about something like this (still needs other active skills):
Code:
Jump up
Syntax: jump
Effect:  This skill when used allows the swashbuckler to have a chance to immediately stand while being placed in the prone position.  The chances of standing up is dependent on mastery, dexterity, and number of attackers.

Eye Gouge
Syntax: Gouge
Effect:  First time this is used and it hits, a severe penalty to accuracy.  If it is used a second time and it also hits, they are blinded till they are fully healed (as if the 'eyes' were mangled).  Chances of this ability to work is affected by the accuracy of the weapon you use.  (Thinking the probability of landing shouldn't be 100% but definitely hella more than headbutt ability).

Enhanced kick
Syntax: kick
Effect:  This stacks onto the the kick skill.  When the kick skill is used, there is a chance that the recipient of the kick will get a debuff that creates lag for all non-auto attack actions taken.

Good stuff. I am thinking even bigger though. This could be part of that.

Stealing moves from WoW is weak.

Never played WoW personally. Yes that might be weak. I'm sure some of the people on staff would know better than I and attempt to avoid ripping moves off of some other game completely.

I know there is an eye gouge... but since I haven't played wow in about 3 years, is it anything like the wow version? Otherwise, the other two should not be from wow at all
