When I think of a rogue, I think of a master of stealth. Able to not solely eliminate a group or person, but to cripple, slow, handicap and even demoralize.

I've been testing some things out in game and realizes a few things. Rogues need stronger stealth abilities, perhaps a way to slip through a door without alerting anyone it was opened? Or being able to have a certain number of people move with them as if they had sneak. Hide and sneak itself have to much of a lag time if a rogue plans on escaping that way if things go south, I'd like to see the times lowered or removed for rogues.

Hamstring needs a buff, I tried using it effectively only to watch my target go for a stroll as I tried reapplying sneaks and hide to gimp the other leg. Also a way to keep someone from speaking or quaffing would rule, a gag effect or some such.

A gag effect? I like where this is going.

Its obvious I'm a rogue, when I spam look at someone because I failed peek a few times. Perhaps peek can be used and not be automattic, or have an added affect as to make it so the person you target, doesn't see you looking at them? Also I'd like to be able to steal during combat, if able.

I wouldn't mind seeing rogues get buffs for what they can do in a group setting. Stealing while in combat would be kind of nifty, although it should probably have a reduced chance of success, and like other rogue skills, not done while being targeted. Honestly though, out of the list of things that could use attention, I don't think rogues really need to be at the top of the list.

Peek success will improve as you master the skill. If you made it used, a failure would have to have some sort of "XXX eyeballs yr things!" echo to the victim or else a 15yr old novice would be as good as a 90yr old grandmaster at peeking. Peek is better as an automatic skill because at least if it fails you can shrug it off and pretend you were just taking a normal look.

I'd love to be able to steal during combat, too, but I think that is pretty unrealistic and I think it would have some ugly game play effects. A change like that would certainly improve dirt kicking as a skill, that's for sure.

A "sneaking stance" would be interesting for rogues. A stance that's not removed by fleeing, which allows the rogue to hide/sneak without lag. But who'd use that when they could use aggressive for more accuracy on their backstabs/circles?

I really like the idea of allowing a rogue who is out of combat to slip through a closed (but unlocked) door. Obvious drawbacks as it'd take him out of formation leaving him very vulnerable, so it would not be overpowered. Very cool idea.

I thought of that just like you said, moving through an unlocked door. Rogues don't need to just run in behind a pet and start back stab, circle then word out if its to tuff. Gives us more of an adventerous, risky feel.

Problem I had with hamstring was a regular heal, or cure restores limb condition, making hamstring pretty crappy as all they had to do was cure light, and follow me. If it can sever a leg, or just mangle it beyond repair that would rule.

A stealth stance would be cool, or just an ability called stealth that made you nearly undetectable. Just looking for a good enough improvement that doesn't make a rogue more obsolete at moving around then a mage.

Grep, I think your quote privileges need to be revoked. My quote has no relevance to this thread.
