This makes me wonder: is the status account-based or character-based? In other words, will each character with the same e-mail address be gifted with the H?

It's character based.

Not allowing proxies seems rather draconian to me.

This is the one point that I'm not super-keen on either. At least, I'm hoping the implementation of this isn't automated, but involves player/imm conversation.

Not all proxy usage is going to be to gainsake the game itself. Now for instance, I'm going to have to be very careful with my viewing of netflix which is being routed through a service which allows me to change my routed path to access the variety of netflix listings in their varous regions. I also have to account for the fact, that I'm not the only person in my household.

Am I going to make a mistake sometime and leave my router setup to go through that service? Probably. I'm hoping that's not going to cost me a character.

This type of usage is not uncommon these days. How will this catch new players who don't know better?

Monitoring, I'm ok with. Conversations I'm ok with. The assumption of cheating and thus punishment for having a proxy ... without any sort of conversation, or other evidence that cheating took place, isn't very player friendly.

I believe myself to be a reasonable person, I hold myself to a standard of only every have one character at a time, and do not cheat. And yet based on this change in policy, it may very well be that the assumption is going to be made that I cheat, due entirely to other internet usages.

I hope that a degree of reasonableness will be applied to this measure as it's implemented, or this policy is otherwise reconsidered.

If you find yourself blocked, you can always appeal that ruling. The block message is set up to tell you that and gives you the email address to use for contact. I sincerely doubt anything that you've set up for Netflix is going to cause a problem. The system has actually been running for several weeks already, so if you haven't already been blocked it probably won't happen automatically.

Thanks for the reply Dulrik. Not that I intend to cross this policy, but it's good to know there is an appeal process.

A couple thoughts: I would highly advise that a section on the webpage be given to explaining the rules (including no proxies being added to the rules) and perhaps also providing the at least starting point for however the appeal process works.

I'm thinking maybe Rules and Regulations should have it's own subpage, anyway, just some feedback.

I am going to write up a new help file related to hoarding very soon. Hopefully tonight.

Having seen a few people who have been de-hoarded and snickered a little to myself. The hoarder flag stops them from holding Any items on log out or only items that are protected from hoarding? I just dont enjoy seeing a whole stack of naked chars around the cities in the Inns because they have nothing better to do.

Those are individuals who have obviously been a detriment to the game. You would do well to spread their limbs throughout your capitol city and praise the gods for their death!

Any items. Except coins. Had to treat them a bit differently because anytime you buy something and make change, you get new coins and I didn't want you lose all your money after buying some food to eat.

I have a question about containers being dehoarded. If you lose a container, what happens to its contents? Are they dropped into your inventory, making you unable to move? If this is the case, could we get a leather backpack to replace it? Have some sort of message: your belongings from x have been placed in a leather backpack. (So people don't freak when they can't look in their precious bag)

If I'm wrong on the way it works, my apologies.

You are exactly right about the way it works. IMO, there's not really much point in replacing it with a backpack because there's no guarantee that everything that fit into your limited bag is going to fit into a schmuck backpack. Maybe I could leave you with a schmuck backpack though, just so you have something to put some of your things in manually once you log on...
