That's okay. I still didn't work on Toxic Grind.

Not sure why you felt that was relevant to bring up in a gameplay thread.

Is it because you think making petty comments on forums to the same guy who bankrolls your entertainment is constructive? Or maybe you're suggesting that building a career to work on AAA game titles pales compared to writing self-published fanfiction?

I'm not sure your angle here. Could you please point it out so we can bask in the glow of your clear superiority? If you want, you can send me a plane ticket to come grovel at your feet with your high six-figure salary you make so that I can learn to be as awesome as you.

In any case, the idea sounds neat. Can't wait for the next update, thanks Dulrik!

Hey! Don't talk smack! I heard rumor that there was a bad a$$ charlie brown shirt in that game! You gotta admit. Thats kinda boss.

I believe it can be legitimately argued that Toxic Grind led to the inevitable bankruptcy and dissolution of THQ. The game was simply ahead of its time.

I appreciate the defense, but it's not necessary this time around. I am just taking it as Ardith's way of saying thank you.

While I did later work on AAA game titles, Toxic Grind wasn't one of them. It may not have been Tony Hawk, but it was still a fun game both to work on and to play.

It's not a defense. He's a dick to you every chance he gets for no good reason and he hasn't anything to show for it.

Sorry but where I come from when someone puts in their dues and it pays off, you want to know that person and encourage them, not crap all over them. You don't get to work on huge projects like that unless you're good, so I don't see why he feels the need to denigrate you.

Especially because one person isn't responsible for the design nor the art work or animation or music or programming or testing - it's a big team effort. It's a LOT of damn hard work to put out even a mediocre title that sells 100,000-200,000 copies on a major console. Not anyone can just do it.

So if he wants to say thank you, he can say 'thank you' like a civil individual who isn't a completely entitled, self-indulgent jackass. It's common courtesy and it'd be nice if folks just started showing some of it around here.

Video game companies do a pretty good job of [REDACTED] all over their employees. They don't need me to do that for them.

It was just a counter-ribbing. It's not like Dulrik, or anybody else for that matter, selecting the last option is going to make me curl up in the fetal position in the corner of the room and bawl my eyes out.

Toxic Grind wasn't a AAA game, but Dulrik did work on one of the Sims, or maybe a few of them. Neither of these games are my cup of tea.

This may be a good opportunity to talk about the for system. If you think ardith has nothing of substance to say, just set him on foe. It can make the forums a much better place if you just ignore people who annoy you.

That said, I really wish we had a community that is less aggressive toward each other. I believe it is worthwhile to encourage our community to be supportive of one another and of sportsmanship. We can do it if we really want to.

Foe system is never a good solution. Just because you don't see the smack being said about you, it doesn't mean it is not said.

This, however, is a very nice thought.

Imagine all the people...

I just don't get why "smack talking" is so important to see. Rarely is it even of such a quality as to elicit a chuckle. I still stand by my previous statement: If you don't think someone has anything of value to say, set them on foe and save yourself from their useless speech. I happen to feel this way about Ardith. I'm not saying, necessarily, that everyone else should feel this way. It is an option worth consideration, though.

90 percent of my smack talking is just trolling and I don't think anyone should take anything bad I say seriously. I honestly cant give ardiths book that accurate of a rating because I never made it past page 4 where the protagonist glances at a man and finds him cute.
I'm actually a bit surprised that you are the new advocate for the 'lets stop the smack talking' committee , but I'm willing to make an honest effort as long as the folks who don't think their stuff doesn't stink just cease talking.
