So like changing tumble to switch places inside the row instead of the column. Maybe they could use a reverse version of taunt. To redirect targeting to another. I can't really think of any good solution.

I'll qualify my comment that I don't think it necessarily serves to make them more buff, but it does seem a survivability tactic that is suited to their nature as swift, speedy, agile fighters.

With most classes, if rescued, they have something to do in the second row by either switching weapons or using other class skills to help. Swashies have close to nothing to do if rescued.

What about adding the ability to tumble when not under attack into empty positions in the formation?
If taunt actually worked correctly, this could be quite interesting with a modified tumble.
Pulling a quick tumble and taunt to redirect would open up some interesting possibilities.
As well as allowing them to return to the front lines if your not in a full group.

So like a tumble command with no target would stick you in the front spot. Tumble with a target would work the same. I don't have any more to say about the taunt issue.
